About

I build AI workflows that give a team its week back.

Independent AI automation engineer in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. I map a process, remove the repetitive steps with AI and integrations, and leave a human in charge of the exceptions.

The short version

I have built the AI and application layer of a HIPAA-compliant assistant, deployed an agent platform on NVIDIA DGX Spark, and fine-tuned a Qwen3-0.6B model against six forecasting baselines. That depth matters when an automation has to do more than call an API. But the work still starts with the process, the hours and the exceptions, not with the model.

Why I work this way

Most automation projects fail on the same three things: the process was never measured, the exceptions were discovered during the build, and nobody agreed what “done” meant. The model is rarely the hard part.

My background is a mix of competitive programming, an AI degree, and enterprise delivery inside a regulated customer environment. That combination is why I start with the baseline and the failure path, not with a workflow tool or a framework.

I also prefer to work on one workflow at a time. A fixed-scope engagement with a measured before and after is better for both sides than an open-ended automation programme that hides whether anything improved.

The path here

PeriodWhatWhy it matters
From Oct 2026M.Sc. in High Performance Computing and Big Data Analytics, Babeș-Bolyai UniversityDeeper grounding in the systems underneath model serving and data processing.
Sept 2025 to Jul 2026AI Solutions Engineer, Computacenter RomaniaHIPAA-compliant assistant, on-premise DGX Spark deployment, enterprise customer contact and security discussions.
Jul 2025 to Aug 2025AI Intern, Computacenter RomaniaBuilt an agentic repository deployment workflow with local, Docker and Azure targets.
2023 to 2026B.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence, Babeș-Bolyai UniversityEnglish-taught honours programme. Thesis: MTF-Qwen, fine-tuning and evaluation.
2023Bronze medal, National Informatics Innovation Olympiad (InfoEducație)The competitive programming base behind the C/C++ and performance work.

I also represented Babeș-Bolyai University at Stage Two 2024 in Berlin, pitching against teams from Cambridge, École Polytechnique and UCLA. That experience is why I am comfortable explaining a workflow and its trade-offs to non-technical decision makers.

How I work

  1. 01

Map the process before the tool

The workflow, the owner and the exceptions come first. A platform chosen before the process is an expensive way to preserve the old mess.

  2. 02

Measure the hours and the exceptions

A baseline from real samples. Without it, every automation looks like an improvement and every failure is a surprise.

  3. 03

    Keep the tools that work

The AI becomes a step inside the existing systems. Replacing a working CRM is usually a bigger project than automating the handoff around it.

  4. 04

Leave a human on the exceptions

The automation handles the repeatable case. People handle the judgement, the ambiguity and the failure path.

What I do not do

Positioning is also a list of refusals. These are deliberate.

  • Generic FAQ chatbots with no measurable workflow behind them.
  • Rip-and-replace platform projects. The automation should fit the tools you already use.
  • Full web application builds. I build the automation and integration layer, not a new product from scratch.
  • AI strategy decks without a working deliverable.
  • Legal AI Act classification or compliance opinions. I build the technical evidence; a lawyer interprets it.
  • Penetration testing or a security certification. I do AI assurance engineering and bring in a certified tester when the scope requires one.

Questions

What does an AI automation engineer do?

An AI automation engineer turns a repetitive workflow into a reliable system: mapping the process, measuring the hours, connecting the tools, adding an AI step only where it earns its place, and designing the human review path. It is process engineering with AI as one component.

Where are you based, and do you work remotely?

Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in the EU time zone. I work remotely with teams across Europe and the US, and I travel for workshops or on-site deployment when the project needs it.

Do you build full web applications?

No. I build the automation, integration and AI layer around your existing systems. If the project needs a full product build, I will say so and point you to a team that does it.

Next step

If a workflow is eating the week, let’s look at it.

A 30-minute call, one process and a rough volume. No deck, no commitment.
